The successful applicant must be based in California. Job Description: Support the operations teams in an afternoon/evening role:Manage weekly flight schedules for 2 aircraft (C182 & C172) from April to OctoberComplete daily flight planning; review CRM updates and liaise with sales team members to ensure daily flight plans are inclusive of all commercial orders, target dates, geographic locations, weather, imaging product, camera configuration, flying height, overlap conditionsMonitor daily weather forecasts (clouds, smoke, fog, wind, rain, etc.) and modify daily flight schedules with backup flight plans prepared in the case of inclement weather conditionsPrepare daily flight packet for pilots, including handheld GPS updates and printouts of flight lines and altitudesManage post-flight data requirements; backup all flight data, audit flight drives for complete and standard data formats, select images for commercial upload. Clear drives before next day s flightsAttend daily operations conference calls and communicate flight planning priorities and issues, engaging with data operations teams to problem-solve issuesManage repository of flight data including periodic data transfers to headquarters in HalifaxUpdate daily operations and flight logs (e.g. flight number, location, issues list, etc.)Assist with scheduling of pilots, to ensure commercial obligations (target flight dates) are maintainedAssist with flight setup; camera equipment setup, pre-flight checks, flight briefings, air-traffic controlSupport other administrative functions and hangar projects, as directedIdentify areas to improve operations efficienciesIt is expected that the daily flight planning is completed in the afternoon of the preceding day, while the post-flight data management activities are conducted each day, immediately following the return of the aircraft to the hangar in Angwin Requirements:Undergraduate degree or 4th year student (expected to graduate in 2019)Valid driver s licenseFlexibility to work one day on weekends; as weather delays and peak seasonal volumes will require weekend flightsSelf-starter with strong work ethic and excellent communication skillsMust be able to work independently for extended periods of time while remaining on taskExcellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and Adobe, and ability to quickly learn new programs and applicationsHard worker who is personable, articulate, patient and passionate about helping othersCreative problem solving in a fast-paced working environmentHighly organized and efficientResourceful, persistent and energetic Bonus Points:Experienced pilotExperience with flight planning softwareExperience with GIS mapping software and toolsAgricultural experience and passion for the industry Hours of work: 30-40 hours/week, afternoon/evening (2:00pm 8:00pm) Target start date: March/April Expected end date: Oct 31, 2019
