Brazing, testing, troubleshooting, and installing cascade refrigeration systems
Working knowledge of refrigeration components, refrigerants, brazing, and charging and reclaiming refrigerant
Troubleshooting a variety of mechanical, refrigeration controls, and electrical systems
Traveling to customer sites to install or repair refrigeration equipment (domestic and international (up to 75% travel)
Building of refrigeration systems primarily involves brazing all refrigeration components and tubing that function in an ultra-low temperature system. This position will require a high level of skill and utilizing brazing techniques to meet high refrigeration quality and leak standards.
Work with engineering to complete performance testing on cascade refrigeration systems in test room environment. This includes prototype building, monitoring, troubleshooting, implementing improvements, and participating in design reviews.
Confer with engineers regarding issues and to resolve problems. Modify and devise new assembly or test procedures. Work with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and assemblers to transfer the product from Engineering to Production.
Read and interpret various types of documents (e.g. performance specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, test procedures) to complete system builds in test lab. Document test procedures and contribute to creation of field installment instructions. This position will involve traveling to the field to install refrigeration systems.
Trade school, Associates degree, or completion of an approved technical training program in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC or refrigeration equipment (Journeyman certification)
Familiarity with working in a professional Engineering / OEM environment
Ability to pass a basic knowledge and practice test (written and practical)
5 years of refrigeration experience (or 3 years of cascade refrigeration)
Ability and willingness to learn new technology
Willingness to take direction and provide feedback
Attention cleanliness and pristine condition of all tools, ability to learn ULT best practices
Excellent documentation skills per test and install plans (photo documentations, filling all information, recording status of system, assessing state and reporting back)
Knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and basic troubleshooting.
Experience that is a plus:
EPA certification or ability to get one quickly
Cascade refrigeration experience
Experience with critically charged refrigeration systems
