Technical Specialist Workshop

Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology , the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, currently has an opening for a Technical Specialist Workshop at the Bensalem, PA location.

Key Performance Areas

The Technical Specialist Workshop is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical aspects of equipment and components. This will involve inspecting equipment for proper performance and determining faults and malfunctions, as well as, testing repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance. As the Workshop Specialist, you will be expected to actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and comply with all SMRT safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations or requirements. A key component of this role is developing sound relationships with the workshop team, as well as, internal and external customers. Developing these relationships will ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Technical Specialist Workshop will:

  • Follow scopes of work within time constraints to meet established delivery targets
  • Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
  • Identify additional repairs, compiles parts and labor estimates and communicates to supervisor.
  • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submits drawing revisions
  • Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
  • Maintain hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Maintain orderly workshop and ensures housekeeping requirements are met
  • Will coordinate transport for pickup and delivery of mobile units to and from facility
  • Must be able to load and unload all mobile equipment at the facility
  • Must be able to perform PDI s on all mobile equipment in facility
  • Will be responsible admin EHS person for the workshop facility
  • Must be able to read hydraulic and electrical schematics and be willing to work in a technical support role over the phone if required
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures
  • Your Profile

    You possess a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, with a technical diploma or certification in a mechanical or electrical discipline preferred. You have 3-5 years of experience with crushing and screening industry specific equipment, preferably mobile crushing and screening equipment and able to comprehend related schematics.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience would be a significant plus
  • Flexible and self-motivated team player with a strongly collaborative nature and dedication to open communication among colleagues
  • Excellent active listening skills and are highly team oriented
  • Time management and organizational skills are well-developed
  • You are computer literate
  • Must have ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product rebuild
