We offer exciting job possibilities throughout our organization where you can enhance your career, sharpen your talents and make an impact.POSITION SUMMARY:The purpose of the Breaking operator is to monitor and remove any defective shell eggs found and also monitor the breaking machine for inedible egg. Customers and consumers benefit from the work done by the breaking operators by supplying them with high quality, liquid egg product.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Have the ability to rotate between two (2) stations:* Candler - removing all damaged or defective shell eggs according to USDA specifications.* Breaking Machine Operator - removing inedible egg product by flipping a lever and diverting the inedible egg to a holding tank.* Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed.* Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.* Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:* No prior experience or training.* Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.* Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:* Good hand and eye coordination* Ability to stand in a stationary position for the duration of the shift.* Ability to withstand constant motion.* Ability to keep pace with machinery.* Ability to work indoors in a damp, changing temperature environment.* Should have full range of motion (ex. Lifting, reaching, turning, twisting)* Ability to travel stairs.* Good verbal communication skills.* Ability to withstand some odors.* Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Safety regulations, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.* Ability to operate specific equipment or toolsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work and may not include all of the duties required of the position.
