Section I: ScopeFireperson /MaintenanceSection II: ResponsibilitiesReports to: PLUMBING/HEATING SUPERVISORSupervises: N/A* Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs all equipment related to the heating and air conditioning system throughout the College campus.* Makes inspections daily of all spaces, equipment and mechanical equipment including low pressure boilers to ensure they are working properly. Makes needed repairs when necessary to all aspects of building maintenance. Also, provides required licenses/permits instituted by the New York City Department of Buildings and FDNY.* Daily reports using software applications will be used to keep daily logs, oil readings, oil deliveries, electrical readings and any other related information regarding the heating and air-conditioning systems. Observes the readings to ensure that the systems are working efficiently.* When needed, the fireperson utilizes energy management systems in the control rooms to ensure efficient heating and cooling to all buildings and classrooms as needed.* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor of plumbing and heating, Director and/or Assistant Director of Physical Plant.Section III: Qualifications* KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:High school graduate or equivalent.Five years of apprentice training under the supervision of a licensed engineer.At least three (3) years of previous job-related experience.Interpretation of wiring schematics and various blueprintsPhysical Requirements:Ability to move up and down, climb ladders.Work with power and hand tools.Lift at least 50 pounds.Move freely around the campus to make repairs and complete inspections.Special Requirements:Proficient skills using computerized building management software i.e. Automated Logic.New York State valid Drivers License.Valid New York City, FDNY, COF P99, F-60, G-60 as required by College or Mandates.Manhattan College is an independent Catholic coeducational institution in the Lasallian tradition.
