LexisNexis Special Services Inc (LNSSI) provides unmatched expertise in data-driven Pattern Analysis and Next-Event Prediction in support of National Security and Federal Law Enforcement missions in counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, organized crime, and trafficking. Pattern Analysis is a unique capability in the defense and federal realms that complements intelligence assessment, source development, trend analysis, geospatial intelligence, and pattern of life analysis. Its concepts and methodologies are grounded in the fundamentals of serial crime analysis developed in support of law enforcement since 1991. Pattern Analysis has a discovery mission to develop the innovative tools, methodologies, and expertise needed to identify, analyze, and resolve patterns in criminal and predatory events driven by the actions of violent offenders and their networks, and provide actionable and timely results to enable operational units to decide, plan, and deploy appropriate counter-measures, increase force protection, and dismantle nefarious and terrorist networks. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide on-site support to government customers in a multi-disciplinary team environment, delivering high-quality and innovative data analysis, data development, capability briefs, and analytic reach-back support for front line personnel, translating highly technical findings for a variety of defense, law enforcement and inter-agency customers. Perform advanced and innovative tactical and strategic analysis relating to behavioral, spatial and temporal patterns of human decisions to predict specific predatory activity and to develop dynamic and complex analytical solutions to critical problem sets worldwide. Apply innovative data science methodologies and develop automation tools to conduct data enrichment and transformation, text extraction and structuring, natural language processing, statistics, time series analysis, geospatial analysis, visual analytics, and scalable machine learning-based solutions with immediate applicability and deployment in both testing and tactical-edge environments in support of immediate and changing requirements for real-world solutions. Successful applicants will have documented experience working with analytic, investigative, or intelligence teams in law enforcement, the military, or the government, and the ability to learn and demonstrate robust technical skill in common analytic applications including MS Excel and Access, ArcGIS, Analyst Notebook, and Python. Computer science and cloud computing experience are highly desirable. Develop subject matter expertise in one of several diverse technical fields to support collaborative team deployment of the Pattern Analysis capability for direct and reach-back support to diverse customer problem sets: ? Large-scale database management, quality control, data fusion, and data manipulation. ? Crime analysis, statistics, operations research, trends analysis, or process modeling. ? Geographic information systems, geospatial analysis, and movement theory. ? Counter-terrorism, intelligence analysis, military operations, or criminal investigation. ? Data science methodologies, coding or scripting languages (Python, R, Perl, etc), tools development, cloud environments, or machine learning concepts. LNSSI provides advanced technical training on pattern analysis methodologies and software tools. Experience and flexibility to work or travel overseas is a plus. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: US CITIZEN ACTIVE TOP SECRET government clearance with SCI eligibility BACHELORS DEGREE in a technical, quantitative, or scientific field of study, or significant coursework in technical fields towards any completed Bachelors degree. MASTERS DEGREE preferred. ? Computer Science, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematics, Systems Analysis, Engineering, Criminal Behavior, Intelligence, National Security, Cyber Security, Psychology, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems Minimum THREE (3) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in a direct operational, technical, investigative, or analytic role in a military, law enforcement, or government setting with significant work in data analysis, software/tools development, or geospatial analysis.
