Below are our preferred requirements, skills, and duties you will perform as our Tool Room Machinist!

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Preferably be a journeyman toolmaker or have equivalent experience.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a machining position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to operate all standard tool room equipment, manual machines, and CNC equipment.

Good written and verbal communications skills.

Excellent visual perception to ensure fine detail quality inspection.

Full physical capability to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, bend and maneuver around equipment and job stations. This position is primarily standing at a machine most of the day. Must be able to lift and position components that weigh up to 35 pounds. Must be able to physically tolerate contact (hands) with coolants and cutting oils.

Preferably be a journeyman toolmaker or have equivalent experience.

Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple jobs according to priority.

Ability to read and interpret production drawings and tool drawings.

Ability to perform precision measurement of tools and machined components.

Must have a through knowledge of both fixture building and repair methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Building new or repairing old fixtures and other tools for the shop.

Following company procedures and policies.

Meeting time standards established for all assigned production.

Alerting a supervisor to any unsafe condition.

Adequate control, protection, and use of the assets of the company.

DUTIES:

Communicate with the supervisor to ensure common understanding of the immediate needs of production and problems they may be having with tooling and/or fixturing.

Produce jigs and fixtures as required by production schedule.

Provide justification and corrective action on all issues pertaining to repair or replacement of fixturing.
