Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Belen, NM 87002Duration: Direct HirePay: $70,000-$80,000/annually DOE Kelly Services is seeking a skilled and talented Manufacturing Engineer for a customer in Belen, NM. SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for process development and standardization and will work in a coordinating role to ensure 100% efficiency of the company s manufacturing processes in all areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Manages projects in coordination with Technical Manager and/or Plant Manager, including but not limited to:
  • designing, purchasing, implementing new equipment,
  • improving efficiency / productivity of existing equipment,
  1. Ensures the interface between industrialization and factories on projects.
  2. Responsible for process development and maintenance.
  3. Manages project budgets and timelines.
  4. Analyze project design proposals and provides development proposals.
  5. Participate in the evolution of process standardization.
  6. Works closely with suppliers and OEMs.
  7. Travels on company business as needed.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS degree in industrial engineering required (degree in mechanical or electrical engineering a plus!) and a minimum of 3 years directly related experience, with an emphasis on project management and quality. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The skills and abilities listed below are representative of the skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the job successfully.   1. High level of experience in project management and manufacturing processes (packaging experience a plus) with strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing and quality.
  2. Must be innovative, self-motivated, detail oriented and willing to take a hands on approach to the work by being on the floor.
  3. Strong PC skills with Microsoft-based programs (Word, Excel, Visio).
  4. Working knowledge/ability to productively use OUTLOOK, including proficiency with the Calendar, Task, and e-mail functions.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to successfully motivate others and build positive relationships.
  6. Ability to work successfully in a culturally diverse environment that offers opportunity for challenge, growth and learning.
  7. Must be safety conscious and work safely.
  8. Must be able to handle stress.
  9. Demonstrated ability and willingness to follow managerial instructions.
  10. Ability to maintain friendly, cooperative, stable demeanor and get along well with others.
  11. Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance (essential function)
  12. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and manuals or governmental regulations.
  13. Ability to design and write complex reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  14. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  15. Knowledge in statistical process control and six sigma methodology.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Qualified candidates should email resume and references for consideration.
