SUMMARY

  • Improvement of product quality, yield, cycle time and cost on shift in alignment with area goals.
  • Develop methodology to cultivate leadership and role development on the shift
  • Work with manufacturing managers, engineers, and others to develop methods for production control, inventory management, or other relevant areas.
  • Set operations and maintenance priorities to achieve daily production goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate B Shift (Front-end nights) wafer fabrication, wafer finishing, and probe activities toward achieving safety, quality and productivity goals.
  • Lead shift in activities to improve shift efficiency, product yields, product cycle time and to reduce cost.
  • Act as a role model for the team, provide training, coach/counsel, and discipline and lead the team to meet daily/weekly production goals.
  • Learn and understand all production flows and anticipate potential issues and how to mitigate them.
  • Work as a team member with other wafer fab supervisors, manufacturing managers and sustaining engineers to achieve performance targets and efforts across shifts.
  • Perform shift administrative activities (attendance records, timecards, shift performance reports etc.) as required
  • Conduct semiannual and annual performance review in a fair, consistent and impartial manner.
  • Cultivate leaders on shift as part of succession planning.
  • Participate or lead project tasks targeted at production issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a wafer fabrication or clean room production environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Able to work in compressed workweek schedule and be flexible with work schedule
  • Experience with LEAN/Six Sigma, TPM and SPC preferred.
  • Must be computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Ability and desire to work as part of team

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Requires ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
