Manufacturing Engineer Mebane, NC 1 year contract Pay based on experience
Lead Product Industrialization and Production Processes functions focused on the design and optimization of the manufacturing technologies, assembly methods, processes and equipment.
Position works in close cooperation with Research and Development (R&D), Production Management and SCM to assure:
new products are designed for manufacturability and to minimize direct costing
manufacturing processes are designed and implemented to assure production efficiency and cost targets

abilities to lead team activities to achieve business strategies/objectives
strong teamwork, ability to create cohesion to team
ability to work under the pressure and deadlines
relation approach to all organizational levels
problem solving skill
willingness to learn the new technology and implement.
expert knowledge of the entire production process from tendering phase, through the on-site activities, including the shipping of the product
expert knowledge of the tools that drive the entire production process
expert knowledge of internal manufacturing process
knowledge of the supplier manufacturing process
expert knowledge of mechanical machining, punching, bending and surface treatment
expert knowledge of continuous improvement tools/methodologies (FMEA, lean manufacturing, 5S, MTM/TMC, DFM/DFA, Six-Sigma, 4Q, VSM, etc.)
drive a continuous improvements based on Quality and Operational Excellence in order to ensure the safety, quality, increase productivity and optimize process and costs
expert knowledge of the tools that drive the production process SAP ERP mainly the PP module, MES, PLM, ePlan, ProE/Solid Work, etc.
involved in hub/international projects for ABB products and global tools
drive improvements, innovation and define and evaluate investment
knowledge of direct/indirect costs associated with production/products
Computer skills and competences
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power-point, MS Project, Visio) and AutoCAD.
