Job Description: Concept & Textile Design Fabric Assistant

Design responsibilities: Supporting the following departments: Concept & Design including Soft Wovens, Soft & Structured Knits, Structured Wovens, Knits tops & Lounge

CAD Work

-Cross category fabric artwork, including Core, Pre-development, and bulk

-Concept pack fabric pages + cover contributions

-Large format fabric presentation tear & color edits

-Create artwork progress boards and time manage to prioritize workload, follow up with cuttings, additional trials and approvals from design.

-Collaborate with print, color and concept to collect and develop artwork ideas

-Has a basic understanding of technical fabric base knowledge, as a way to guide directors toward more successfully executed artworks.

Trend & Research

-Seasonal tear & trend research by fabric type

-Contribute to seasonal runway recap packs and/or presentation

-Attend mill appointments and fabric shows on behalf of the brand

-Market and vintage shop as needed

-Research into pattern needs and offer ideas (ex: plaids, jacquards, emb layouts)

-Format sourcing packs seasonally

Admin & Organization

-Concept fabric/ artwork & sample library organization

-Ordering of department supplies seasonally

-Editing mill selections & sorting for in season needs and workshop preparation

-Management of samples, photographing for archive and keeping track

-Organizing PV travel and NYC trips as needed

-Keeping development binders and seasonal inquiries updated

-Receive & log daily packages

Presentations

-Core business updates: organize needs, shop market and mill base, pull & edit tears and additional ideas for artworks

-Trend: support building out boards & brainstorm new presentation ideas, pull tears and additional ideas, upkeep of info and headers post-presentation.

-Contribute to master pack (scan pages, record info), ownership of formatting all fabric visuals and concept callouts

-Dye/wash concept fabrics to contribute to overall aesthetic of boards

-Contribute to PV recap presentation as needed

-Support sourcing team in building presentations as needed

Shared Sourcing responsibilities:

-Coordinate via mill emails all fabric inquires throughout season

-Manage sourcing request with follow through (structured only)

-Support in editing, sorting & creating each teams seasonal assortment (w/s to h/o)

-Creating and maintaining in season working master boards by concept for each department
