ANDRITZ HYDRO USA a part of Andritz Inc operates in a niche market that provides overhaul and rehabilitation to hydro power plants. The work encompasses a wide range of repair, replacement and improvement services to restore dependability and sustainability to hydro power facilities, or to increase capacity and/or efficiency. Projects range in size and scope, but routinely span from component assessment, design, and procurement to site installation and commissioning. Hydro power is recognized as the most economic form of renewable energy, and the company is committed to environmentally friendly concepts.
Major responsibilities are listed but not limited to the following duties:
Apprentice Machinist must have educational knowledge of, and be able to competently and safely:
Operate various horizontal and vertical lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and other machine tools as assigned.
Use metal cutting tooling.
Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments as assigned.
Rig loads and operate overhead cranes.
Read drawings and make sketches.
Interact with and clearly communicate with co-workers in a team-like atmosphere.
Stand on your feet at least 8 hr per day.
Dead lift at least 60 lb.cient assistance with production planning.
Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time.
Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
Recent Associate Degree in Machining, Industrial Technology or similar educational attainment or to be graduate
Knowledge and use of basic hand tools
Knowledge and understand of measure devices such as micrometers.
General concepts of machining and above average math skills
