Position Overview










*This role specifically supports tissue based
manufacturing operations*




The
Pharmaceutical
Technology Engineer III shall be responsible for improving department
procedures and processes including equipment release, preventive maintenance,
spare parts inventory and performance monitoring. They shall also be
responsible for increasing equipment performance to zero un-planned downtime
performance levels (introduce diagnostic capabilities, propose and implement
modifications, update software and controllers, etc.), determine equipment
aging and life expectancy with plan to replace / upgrade before break downs
occur and troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on present systems and
recommend continuous improvement and new technology programs based on
experience designing production scale equipment. This role will be based in
LifeCell?s Regenerative Medicine Manufacturing facility in Branchburg, New
Jersey.




Main Areas of Responsibilities





  • Lead efforts in optimizing Overall Equipment
    Effectiveness along with Manufacturing Services and Continuous
    Improvement.? Provide definition,
    metrics, and data collection plans along with Manufacturing Services.


  • Support Production as required to
    troubleshoot material, process and equipment problems. Utilize technical
    abilities and experience to solve manufacturing problems, including the use of
    structured analytical techniques such as six sigma, lean, SPC and other
    statistical tools.


  • Revise manufacturing and engineering
    documentation, ensuring compliance between manufacturing process documentation,
    all applicable specifications, and engineering drawings while providing
    required operator training.


  • Handle run-off, start-up, debugging,
    qualification support, and troubleshooting down equipment. Track equipment
    build and resolve issues from the equipment design phase through
    installation.?Manage documentation, training, and hand-off to production
    .


  • Design and develop software,
    control, and automation solutions for manufacturing.? This may include in-house design or the use
    of products or components as purchased from vendors.? Design, build and qualify systems to
    facilitate manufacturing capability, control, and capacity requirements
    .


  • Manage the execution of safety improvement
    projects, quality investigations (QI), and Corrective and Preventative Actions
    (CAPA) as assigned.


























Requirements




  • At least 5 years hands-on manufacturing engineering experience is required

  • Experience with medical device equipment
    design and processes that conform to standards including: FDA, AATB, ISO, ASTM,
    ASME, BPE, etc.

  • Understands
    principles of the following: material cutting, mixing, packaging,
    refrigeration, PLC?s, manufacturing control systems, aseptic manufacturing and
    medical device change control.


  • Fundamental
    knowledge of mechanical, electrical, chemical, software, and HVAC systems.


  • Knowledge of various measurement systems
    including vision systems, laser systems, ultra-sonics, particle size analyzers,
    viscometers, color measurement, etc.


  • Knowledge
    of OEE, root cause analysis, design for manufacturability, safety regulations
    and OSHA requirements.















?Preferred Skills/Qualification



  • Strong hands-on equipment design experience from
    concept through implementation including generation of user specifications,
    drawings, simulations, proof of concept testing, factory acceptance testing,
    commissioning, calibration, and validation.?


  • Knowledge of one or more CAD packages, modeling
    programs, and/or process modeling software.


  • Flexible and Adaptive; able to explore many
    ideas simultaneously.


  • Strong organizational skills and ability to
    manage time effectively.







Education


  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field
