The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing a maintenance department, be self-motivated, proactive, and be able to implement/execute a preventative maintenance program in a manufacturing environment.
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager. Reporting to this position are other maintenance personnel from both first & second shifts. This person must work closely with production management in order to meet production and plant cost objectives. Teamwork with other company supervisors, peers, and subordinates is a must.
The successful candidate must lead from the front, be very organized, and must understand the importance of maintenance to the overall achievement of production targets. Significant job responsibilities and needs are:
Establish & maintain an accident-free work environment.
Ensure that plant machinery/equipment is in compliance with established company and regulatory compliance.
Administer a sound preventive maintenance program with appropriate documentation and record keeping in order to provide consistent, efficient, and continual operations.
Continuously evaluate and control the cost of repair and maintenance expenditures striving to reduce cost without impacting safety & productivity.
Maintain a maintenance cost system to track repairs by equipment/components as well as total equipment in a specific category.
Assist, plan, and execute projects such as the installation of or replacement of equipment.
Coordinate with regional and corporate engineering assets for the installation of new equipment.
Meet company standards for equipment maintenance through routine audits conducted by regional engineering assets.
Recommends repair and maintenance project budgets and capital budget items.
Ensure housekeeping of all maintenance areas and throughout the plant meets and exceeds company expectations.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
A college degree and/or equivalent work experience.
Must have a background in industrial maintenance including knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints.
Must have strong analytical problem solving skills.
Must have good communication skills, both English and Spanish.
