The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for delivering new programs and changes to existing programs onto the production floor.

The delivery will follow lean manufacturing principles and have proven and reliable processes that the production floor can execute against to deliver ongoing cost-effective quality products to the customer.

Main Job Duties:
- Oversee the PPPS (Pre-Production) system and other engineering purchase orders. Follow all procedures related to shipping of these orders. Monitor customer websites for bulletins and notifications.
- Active participant in APQP. Interfaces with Program managers following the APQP format, supporting the development of FMEA's, Control Plans, developing process potentials and capabilities.
- Develop packaging for new programs.
- Develop lean manufacturing systems and processes for new launches. Support all new launches until they have achieved their required delivery performance.
- Develop error proofing and quality systems for new launches.
- Lead and oversee execution and timing for all engineering changes.
- Own and execute the PTR process with customer facilities.
- Support Customer build events as required.
- Maintains a 'Hands-on' approach with all employees during launches to ensure shorter product learning curve.
- Coordinate dimensional studies and support the PPAP process.
- Responsible for program engineering management from award of business through service.
- Provide technical direction and coordination for cost save initiatives.
- Support the production floor with expertise and improvements as required.
- Participate in Top Focus/Continuous Improvement processes to improve scrap, quality and overall plant performance.
- Develop work instructions for all new launches and changes to existing programs.
- Support the Management Review process as required.
- Lead efforts to improve and design station layouts that lead towards the plant goal of one piece flow and lean manufacturing.
- Develop and support plans for ergonomic and safety improvements on new and existing programs and equipment.
